Driftwood and Clay are a husband and wife artisan duo based in Helston, Cornwall. They create one of a kind driftwood stylized sculptures of resident, coastal, Cornish birds.
 
They hunt through the strand line at each new tide, collecting the driftwood that finds its way to Cornish shores. Each bird is built using clay sculpted around a driftwood and wire armature.
The piece is then hand painted to abstractly represent the markings of  the reclusive Cornish Chough. Finally each bird is paired with a unique driftwood stand, tumbled by the sea and sand to complete the piece.
