Potters Gillian Naylor and Mark Faulkner say,
"Our designs may be contemporary, but we use traditional techniques to create them, keeping alive the age-old skills and craftsmanship of the English Potteries.
We set up as a small design studio in 1984. We took on commissions of all sorts — graphics, illustrations and textile designs. But working in Stoke-on-Trent, with its 400-year-old pottery heritage, we soon started applying our ideas to bone china.
In a local factory we watched as our designs slowly transformed from ideas on paper through to the finished product - going through many fascinating processes along the way. As soon as we saw our first set of finished bone china mugs, still glowing hot from the kilns - we were hooked."
