Diane is a Penzance based artist who has continued to stock her popular St Michael's Mount cards for a few years at Circa 21. Her studio is set in the beautiful Trewidden Gardens.

She says, “I make paintings after spending time in the landscape largely on coastal walks and also from other places I have visited. I use photography and sketches to remember these places. I am drawn to dramatic light and form and use a rich palette of colour.
My aim through painting is to create a congruous  place where light, colour, movement and perspective come together. I build up a blockmaking formation of marks through which a landscape gradually evolves. The physical use of paint reflects the solidity of nature. Starting points are real places but my paintings also portray the relationship between the different ways I use my palette. Through contemplation and creating a work I hope to convey the awe I feel of nature.
I have lived in Cornwall since 1999 and currently work as an Arts Support Worker at Drym Valley Day Centre and with made ( music and dance education), Cornwall.  I studied painting and printmaking at Hull where I did my BA degree in Fine Art 1985-1988 followed by a Post Graduate year in Fine Art at Cyprus College of Art.”
